Book talks at Google - A Way to Engage Young Professionals?:

I watched the interview with Tina Fey and it was really great. When I think about ways to bring young professionals into the library, I think that things like this are great. If only we could get Tina Fey! But alas, we cannot. Still, young professionals do love things like this, but they’re often taken aback by having to sit through boring lectures in a room full of 70 year olds. Library should be a place of continued education for all, and we should also try to find a “quasi-collegiate atmosphere”

Rethinking Single-Sex Dorms | First Things:

I’m very pro-single-sex dorms. I think that they end well for everyone. Having been an RA in a single-sex dorm, I think that my girls matured more throughout the year than students in other dorms, and I think that it created a cohesion in our community. That being said, the single-sex male dorm did not fare as well, so take that with a grain of salt.
